I have moderate to ...
I have moderate to severe Crohn's disease. No medication other than Prednisone seems to work. I have tried Humira, Remicade and a myriad of other drugs. I am looking into specific diets for Crohns. What foods should I base my diet off of? I know that everyone is different, but some things work for the majority. What about Cats Claw and other herbs? Which herbs do I need to take, how much do I take and in what form? Help.

@SkinnyMusic765,

...
@SkinnyMusic765,

Cannabis can't legally be prescribed by doctors, because of a federal law (controlled substance act of the early 1970s) THAT SAYS IT HAS NO "ACCEPTED" MEDICAL VALUE IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE AND HIGHLY ABUSED.

Simply smoking pot violates federal law, even if you had a mmj card in 1 of 16 States (and D.C.) the laws of the States can't hold up in court. So, change that and you'll be good. The doctor could then give you some cannabis tonic that might possibly remiss your Crohn's.

Most importantly... your husband got laid off due to taking FMLA???? or he exhausted his FMLA bank then got laid off?

If he was really laid off because he took FMLA, contact a lawyer... that's the whole point of FMLA. HOWEVER if he took the entire 12 weeks off work, then got laid off, due to his company not being able to accommodate him... totally different story.
References :
I don't know about FMLA in the UK, which is where your question posted.

Crohn's can indeed be a disability if it interferes with the ability to work.
References :
The prognosis for a person for Chron's Disease depends upon where in the GI tract the disease is and how bad of a case a person has.

Most people with Chron's will have flair ups (increase in symptoms) from time to time and may actually need surgery. In rare cases the disease can be life threatening. The source below discusses the disease in more detail.

It will be a life adjustment change for your sister but in time she'll learn what foods she can eat and which foods to stay away from in order to avoid flair ups. As long as your sister keeps in close contact with her gastroenterologist and sees him/her regularly, she should be fine.
References :
http://chronsdiseaselivingwith.blogspot.com/search/label/About%20Chrons%20Disease

that is really worrisome. cronh's is one of the beginning of colon or intestinal cancer if left untreated. crohns is an ulcer that can be spread throughout the intestines. just work it out with your doctor & she'll be fine.
References :
This is a great ...
This is a great video. Its a great service to those individuals and their families. I do not personally have this disease, I was just learning what it was about and this video was excellent in giving me that information. I do however, have Ankylosing Spondylitis. I understand Remicade treats both diseases. Is there a video similar to this one about AS? Thanks for the great video.
