  7. (cont) but make …
(cont) but make sure you have lots of OJ, eggs, things high in protein so you don’t get too tired to want to eat which was where I was at…try to at least eat a little something at every meal (not just a piece of white bread tho because there’s no nutrients in that. Add peanut butter, fish, stirfrys (with the veggies well softened…not just a dump it in and go stirfry but cook it more – like steamed almost) stuff thats not too heavy when yer not hungry but will give you nutrients.

  8. (cont) with crohn’s
(cont) with crohn’s we have a hard time absorbing nutrients and once you start on some meds you will be needing the extra nutrients, or even if you arent very hungry then maybe a one a day supplement? I know it wouldnt get you everything but it’d be a start. When I lost all that weight the hospital put me on a low fiber (because of the flare up) and high energy diet (Butter or extra gravy on everything) – not that I suggest that as i quickly packed the weight on…

  9. Hi angel,

    I think …
    Hi angel,

I think it does have dairy as it is a calcium drink. Maybe the mixing the carnation with the low lactaid milk would be better, I was just throwing out what I know had worked for me. I was drinking low lactaid milk and taking a boost a day, but if you are really someone badly affected then going with the carnation route would likely be best. I am female. Another thing are you taking any supplements yet? I was recommended to start taking calcium and vitamin d supplements. (As …cont)

  11. Hi Angel,

    I drink …
    Hi Angel,

I drink a boost everyday as that was what I got used to in the hospital. There is also an Equate brand of the same thing that isn’t too bad, not as sweet as the boost. You should really try something like that just to be keeping to get your nutrients (or some of them) I would hate for you to be as badly malnourished as I was when they admitted me. Try the boost – It goes on sale at walmart sometimes- i would suggest getting the high protein ones and at least seeing how you feel. XOX

  12. Jammie, I live in …
Jammie, I live in Nevada and I am going down to the state to ask for medical. maybe, they can help as far as the meds can not afford and no there are no grats just welfare!! sucks! Please pray for me, I hope they approve. I am trying to eat ~ I mean whatever just so I can gain something or absorb somthing as far as nutrients. Have any of you tried ensure? It so expensive, so I thought I would try carnation breakfast and mix it with lactaid free milk..

Is there no grants that you can apply for? Where do you live rwhiteangel? I lost 35 lbs in a month when I was diagnosed but if you get too malnourished or dehydrated you are only going to get worse. please take care. At least work on your diet as much as possible. I know its hard but eat what you can.
